What can she cook?

My heritage is primarily Italian and German. I sure love to cook my Italian, it’s hard not too when your mother is 100% and that’s what you grew up with! Over the years though, I have branched out and challenge not only my cooking skills with new techniques, cuisines and healthy renditions, but I challenge my taste buds too! Check out my Flickr photos to see a sampling of dishes I have cooked.

I also welcome taste-testing opportunities! I participated on Orlando Baking Company’s blogger review panel, where I tested and shared recipes for their new True Grains bread line. If you have partnership ideas, or similar food blogger opportunities, drop me a line: victoria@thisgirlsgottaeat.com

A few quick thoughts about This Girl’s Gotta Eat!:

  • My grandpa always said if you can read, you can cook. He was right! Which is why I try not to leave any detail of a recipe out, and give extra tips where I think they’d be helpful…so that if you follow a recipe posted here, your end product should be pretty close to mine.
  • I like food blogs that get right to the point, as you cruise around here you’ll notice that’s my style. I like a little intro about the food or the thought behind a meal, a pic of the final product and the recipe itself with detailed instructions and tips.
  • Don’t be afraid to leave feedback, I always like to hear what people think about the recipes I post. Whether you just think it sounds good, or can verify that you tried it and it’s a keeper!

“What is it about good food that stirs the soul? Maybe it’s the way it brings us together. Or that nothing sparks a memory like a favorite dish. Or that the love of eating well is just so universal. Whoever or wherever we are, we all enjoy digging into something delicious.” ~ Oprah

Where did you find your apron? I saw one once at a local store and have not been able to find them since

Hi Nikki, I found this apron from an Italian-American Club in Tampa (in Ybor City to be exact). You may be able to search for Italian-American Clubs in your area to see if you can find something similar, or maybe even on etsy.com, lots of good finds on that site!
