Ferritto Slush

The Italian side of my family throws some great parties! And for as long as I can remember, my Grandma has been making this “slush” cocktail to help make a classic Ferritto party complete! It’s easy, refreshing, and makes a healthy amount….give it a try for New Years and…Salute 🙂

Ferritto Slush

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 7 cups water
  • 4 tea bags
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1 (12 oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 2 cups gin (I like to add a little more for good measure!)
  • Sprite or Ginger Ale

In a pot, place teabags in 2 cups boiling water, and let steep while you work on the next step. In another large pot, boil 7 cups of water, then add sugar and stir until dissolved; set aside to cool.

Mix together sugar water, tea, lemonade concentrate and orange juice concentrate in a large freezer safe container. Stir in gin. Freeze liquid overnight (at least 24 hours) to form the “slush”. The longer this sits in the freezer the better it gets!

To serve, take a few healthy scoops of the “slush” into a glass and top with Sprite or Ginger Ale. Keep the “slush” in the freezer in better servings.
